Online Technical Quiz Competition

American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Student chapter at Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering promotes student research and encourages activities in the area of Mechanical and Mechatronics. This online event held on 28th May 2020 was aimed to engage the students, to have fun while learning about modern developments in the field of Mechanical and Mechatronics.  The event focused mainly on the topics in Mechanical and Mechatronics such as  4D printing, Robotics, Industry 4.0, Artificial Intelligence, Battery electric car, Autonomous vehicle, High-speed machining etc. This quiz grasped very good attention across various programs of the Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department, including CAME, MT, POM and CHEMICAL Engg batches. The top 10 to participants are considered for certificate award by ASME student chapter.

The activity had a great turnout as 35 students attempted the quiz with the top score of 44/50 by Mr Sulaiman Al Zakwani from Level 3 CAME programme. The second position is shared with the score of 43/50 by three students named as Mr Rocky Das from Mechatronics, Mr Meshal Al ojaili from Mechatronics and Mazoun Al Busaidi from Mechatronics. Five students have scored above 40 marks and the tenth position score is 35/50. 


This event was organized by ASME student chapter members: President Ms Waleeja Mateen, Vice President Mr Saad Al Barwani and Treasurer Ms Shalini Pukkella. under the supervision of staff advisor of ASME Dr R. Amuthakkannan. The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering acknowledges all participants and congratulates the top scorers and also ASME Student chapter members for their efforts in successfully organising this event.
