College of Engineering will host International Online Symposium on “Challenges in Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR)

Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, College of Engineering, National University is pleased to announce that the International Symposium on Challenges in Fourth Industrial Revolution(4IR) will be held at College of engineering, National University of Science and Technology, Muscat through online on 28th April 2021.This symposium is the continuation of a successful conduct of first symposium on challenges in Fourth Industrial revolution at college of engineering campus, Al Hail during November 2019. Rapid advancement in the IT and other engineering technologies demand more proactive steps from education institutes and Industries.  The impact of 4 IR is more on the education and manufacturing sectors compared to previous generation’s industrial revolution. Keeping track of key technologies can be quite a challenge as they keep evolving at a very fast pace. Fourth Industrial revolution is the current technological digital revolution in which major focus is on cyber physical and biological systems such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotics, Internet on Things, Virtual Reality etc., so, it is very important to understand the fundamentals about 4IR challenges through workshops, conferences, symposiums etc. which is the key objective of this symposium. It is expected around 100 participants will attend this event l to enhance their knowledge in modern technologies involved in 4IR. This symposium will enable our students to use and enhance their technical skills, competencies in modern technologies. President and CEO of Qualitest Group, Newjersy, USA, Mr.Anbu Ganapathi Muppidathi (Ex. SVP & Global Markets Head - Enterprise Cloud Application Services, Cognizant) has kindly accepted to give inaugural address to the participants.
